Why Prints Matter

Don't Lose Your Valuable Memories

We’ve heard it time and time again– a picture is worth a thousand words.  I think that’s so true.

There’s so much that you can learn by looking at a picture. They tell stories without having to say anything.  It’s a moment stopped in time.  Pictures are the perfect way to remember moments and feelings that can never really fully be explained to other people. And there’s something special about looking back at a picture and reliving that moment over and over again.

The sad part is that most of the pictures we take only live a digital life. They are stuck on a screen and never get the chance to be printed. Sure, there are some pictures that only you need to see, but there are some pictures just begging to be printed and preserved. They are waiting to be hung on your wall, but most of them won’t end up there.  They won’t end up documented on a scrapbook page or in a photo album. They will end up on your Facebook page or in an album on your phone. This is the way we live life now– on screens.

I think that it’s important to not let pictures stay trapped on a screen.

I can’t stress it enough: print your pictures.  print what matters.  print what you want to preserve.

While it is unlikely that something will happen to ruin your scrapbooks and photo albums, you never know when technology may fail you and those precious moments will be gone in the blink of an eye.

A Print Will Always Be There.

Digital media goes out-of-date and out-of-style, and the files that you have stored in these digital formats will also go out-of-style and become inaccessible. Yikes!

Imagine having your vacation photos from 20 years ago on a 3.5″ Floppy Disk – how might you access those “digital files” today?  You’ll soon have a generation of images that were stored on discs, CD’s and probably USB drives that may not even be accessible.

Think About That For A Second.

If you made prints as well, then these changes in technology wouldn’t have a negative impact on you being able to continue to enjoy your images.

A Print Shouldn’t Need To Be Enjoyed On A Screen.

Being “in the moment” and away from technology is not a luxury that you get to enjoy all that often in today’s digital world. There is something nostalgic and romantic about being able to curl up on the couch with your children and look back at a wedding album, or old family photos, without having to flip open a laptop and press the “next” button dozens of times.

A Print Lasts A Lifetime, And Often Even Longer.

Physical prints give you heirlooms to pass down as you move on in your life.

Capture a moment and print it (preserve the moment) not just for today, but for tomorrow, for your children and your children’s children.

Passing down a box of hard drives doesn’t exactly have the same appeal, does it?
